Meet the Team Behind
Triangle Productions

Our Story

Our work often requires a little sparkle of ‘magic’. Our audiences are not the only ones drawn in by curiosities and imagination. One of our great challenges is to provide professional excellence without taking for granted, or smothering, the magic.

In 2015, after many busy but wonderful years working in set construction and set design for TV, Theatres, Events, and Exhibitions, we came together to form an organisation which sought to protect that sparkle while providing a more precise, dependable, and creative construction service to the companies we knew and appreciated. Thus, ‘Triangle Productions’ was born, and we’ve been learning, growing, and bringing bespoke set constructions to life ever since.

So how do we keep that sparkle alive? Well, we gradually built our speciality construction company through, and as a consequence of, our relationships. They are the bedrock of our organisation. Relationships not only with our clients, but also internally, with our team, as well as with our work, our creations, and ourselves.

Balancing relationships, professional excellence, and creative design is a difficult but worthy challenge. We want to feel inspired by what we do, how we do it, and who we do it with, and we want to ensure our clients, whether TV, Corporate, Theatre or Events, feel just the same way.

We know that creative design is more than formula, construction more than assembly, and business more than transactions. Striking a balance between creativity, craftsmanship and capacity has always been at the core of Triangle Productions and after all this time we are delighted to say ‘We’re still feeling the magic’.

The Management

Nisei Kobayashi Managing Director Triangle Productions

Nisei Kobayashi

Managing Director

Having studied Architecture at Musashino Art University in Tokyo, Nisei Kobayashi started his career as a set constructor in CSS Sogo Butai Ltd. in Nagoya. While learning basic set design and set construction, scenic painting, and stage management, Nisei developed a desire to work alongside, and to learn from, people of other cultures. So much so, that in 2007 he moved to Cork, Ireland, and has enjoyed both the Irish and multinational lifestyle here ever since.

Working in Theatre and Events in Ireland, Nisei noticed a conflict between the creative process and business efficiency. As a natural problem solver, Nisei decided to meet this disparity head on, and in 2014 he enrolled in a Business Studies and Accounting course at CIT, receiving a bachelor degree. Nisei was now ready to enact the change he wanted to see.

Joe Stockdale

Director

"The reality of my work-life trajectory was that I purposely fostered good relationships with my fellow workers, clients and suppliers. My ethos for employment was socialistic-ally driven, creating employment that not only provided a living, but was grounded on a philosophy that recognised that we all have talents, and we all have a duty to express them and to seek to find them in others.

I deliberately sought to provide a vehicle of expression to the many artistically talented friends I knew. Theatre provided an excellent medium for expression in many forms, and thus began my move to creative construction.

Life is an adventure made up of many chapters, the title of our chapters are already laid down, but the story in between we are left to write ourselves. I have reached a chapter now in life that contains the word ‘Retirement’. I am still a director of Triangle Productions, and I retain a fervent desire to see the company continue to prosper. Companies also have chapters, the current one could be titled ‘A New Dawn’. This chapter now sees younger talent take the helm, with many of the same experienced crew manning the rigging. The course proceeds according to the charts, but a new and exciting journey has begun in wider, deeper seas.

In my early creative construction days, we depended on whatever way the wind was blowing to carry the course of our craft. Now technology and education has provided us with the means to sail against the wind, new skills are required to compliment this technology. I rest in the knowledge that the new captain has all the attributes to safely guide ‘Triangle’ and her crew on this new, exciting journey."

The Team

Humble & Camera-Shy

Everything that happens at Triangle, happens because of an amazing team. We can’t emphasise this enough! We did not hire those who happened to be available, we welcomed in those who shared our dedication, our work ethic, and who were superbly skilled. Despite their impressive abilities, they are humble and camera-shy, but we are working on getting some photographs of them to share.

What People are Saying About Us

Nisei and the team at Triangle have constructed sets for our RTEjr TV shows ‘Let’s Find Out’ and ‘Body Brothers’. They're a pleasure to work with, and their creativity and craftsmanship always add value to our productions. Attributes Most Appreciated: Professionalism, Quality, Responsiveness

Nisei & Triangle Productions work diligently & conscientiously to deliver designs exactly to the finest details. They are happy to work with the entire team on the budgeting & scheduling of productions & have a unique understanding of theatre & all of our needs & eccentricities! We have thrown both weird & wonderful plans at them over the years & they always seem to revel in the challenge of inventing, adapting & creating. They also employ the best of local tradespeople & prioritise sourcing materials locally.

I have two restaurants in Cork City and whenever I need work completed I always think of Triangle Productions straight away. Nisei is always so pleasant to work with and is very efficient and creative in the work that he does. He is a true craftsman. I would recommend Triangle Productions to anyone that is looking for construction work to be done or for bespoke furniture to be designed.
